Another name that the municipality has received: Villa de San Sebastián de la Plata Folk Paradise of Huila, but the most common is Plateños.

Sources of the Economy

The main productive systems are dual-purpose cattle ranching, agriculture. The agricultural sector is one of the most important lines in the economy of the Municipality is represented mainly by: coffee / plantain, banana, cocoa, corn, sugarcane, beans, potatoes; and some fruit trees such as lulo, tree tomato, blackberry and granadilla.

Festivities

Its main festivals are the Folklore for 62 years now.
